Brazil is an incredible destination for the adventurous traveller; with a wealth of culture, sights and scenery, there’s no end to the experiences one can have here. However, travelling to Brazil, much like travelling to any country, requires some careful planning and preparation. In this article, Dialaflight (http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/dial-a-flight-london) travel experts discuss the essentials preparations which will need to be made before setting off to this beautiful country.

Vaccinations are essential, Dialaflight says, and usually need to be taken a few weeks before departure. The specific types of vaccinations you’ll need will depend on where in Brazil you intend to travel; for instance, if you’re going to be in Sao Paulo or Rio, then you will probably need Typhoid and Hep-A shots, whilst if you wish to travel along the Amazon, you will most likely need to get vaccinated for Hep-A, Typhoid, Malaria and Yellow Fever. Whilst this may not be the most enjoyable aspect of planning your trip, Dialaflight says that it will put your mind at ease during your stay, ensuring that you enjoy yourself without worrying about illness.

It’s also a good idea, Dialaflight says, to study the city maps before heading away, particularly if you intend to stay for more than a week. Known where your accommodation is on the map; for instance, is it to the east of Copa, or the west of Ipanema? Consider jotting down the main attractions that you want to visit, and marking their locations on the map, too. This will save you from wandering aimlessly around the streets, asking for directions. Speaking of which, it’s also advisable to learn a couple of basic sentences in Portuguese, so that you can ask for help if you need it.

In terms of money, make sure to organise all of your ATM and credit cards; they should be up to date, and you may also need to find out if your particular cards are accepted by Brazilian ATMs. As a final tip, Dialaflight recommends photocopying passports, credit cards and visas, and giving these to a family member, in case of lost or stolen documentation.
