After graduating from one of the leading college prep high schools in Hawaii in 1990, Dr Roland Buyama completed 3 years of college (from 1990 to 1993). resulting from his academic performance he gained acceptance into the School of Dentistry at Indiana University, which he attended from 1993 to 1997. After graduating from dental school he attended a two-year dental residency program from 1997 to 1999, in order to obtain the skills required to become a pediatric dentistry specialist. He believes that the two years of practical knowledge he gained throughout his residency gave him a solid foundation from which to build a effective career in dentistry.

Roland Buyama DDS says that the clinical training he obtained throughout his residency at Indiana University gave him the capability to right away go after a worthwhile occupation in pediatric dentistry. Just a few months after graduating from the program he started practicing professionally in San Diego, and nine years later he bought his own practice in the area. Throughout his residency training he learned about advanced diagnostic methods, surgical procedures, oral pathology, little one psychology, radiology, pediatric pharmacology, general anesthesia, howto take care of special-needs patients, and facial/oral trauma management.

The 24-month program gave Dr. Roland Buyama the chance to obtain hands-on experience working with younger people at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Kids and other University hospitals. Moreover, graduating from the residency gave him the ability to meet all educational and examination needs of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). The pediatric dentistry residency program at Indiana University is globally recognized and is authorized by the American Dental Association (ADA) Commission on Accreditation.

Roland says he is grateful to have participated in a residency program that provided extensive clinical opportunities and thoroughly introduced him to any aspect of pediatric dentistry. Moreover, he says that the program gave him access to trustworthy and established informational sources that assisted him conduct efficient study and obtain crucial understanding throughout his postgraduate getaway .
