PopUps Friend or Foe?
You’ve decided that you might want to learn about something, so you do a Yahoo and google search. You select one of the web pages chosen for you by Google and click on its link. Then, once the page finishes loading, big surprise! Instead of viewing the page that is supposed to have the content you need, you are forced to handle a pop up. This pop-up is an advertisement and no matter how many times you try and shut it down, it won’t close—unless you enter in your e-mail address. Eventually you just close down your browser totally because you get so irked. The site owner has won!
So many people detest pop ups—and with justification. They tend to be irritating. They intrude in your web use. The ones that play audio might find yourself getting you in trouble with your boss (or someone else in the room). They make unrealistic pledges. If you wish to close them you will have to give up your personal data. Some even place malware and cookies inside your computer systems. There aren't a whole bunch of folks who actually like to be confronted by these annoying things but so many IMers insist on making use of them. How come?
The depressing fact is that IMers keep using pop up banner ads because they actually work. They command interest. They help IMers build their e-mail promoting prospect lists. It is proven consistantly that a pop up ad will produce more opt ins than an opt in box placed in a sidebar or in the body of a web page. They have sometimes been known to help you make sales. Sadly, these annoying irritating web pests get the job done and, until someone can come up with something better, most Internet Marketers are going to keep using them. Free PLR Articles Every Month
Of course, that doesn’t imply that most Entrepreneurs should continue to use them. What kind of benefit is there to an e-mail address that is exclusively given under duress? Most of the time that particular person will decide to opt out of your list once they receive their first e-mail. How good can your traffic really be if nearly all of your visitors click out because they are offended by the pop up? Of course you want to make money but really--is that the only way to do it? There needs to be a better solution for someone who would like to make and build an e-mail list to help them sell things.
The real truth is this: if you have an excellent product and you can present it in a good light, you won’t need to use a pop up. Work hard at creating a good product or service so that you won't have to deal with the frustrating pop ups to do your job for you. Write a persuasive sales page or splash page. Make your written content and copy so effective that it can grab your reader's attention so hard that it never has to let go. The real truth is that an online Marketer will only find accomplishment and profit online if he or she creates something that someone else finds valuable. No pop-up ad can actually replace the actual benefit of your product.
