In the past, diabetes was associated with old people but not today. Younger adults and even young children are struggling to manage this condition. There is diabetes type 1 and 2, type 2 being the most common and is associated to aging. The disease is usually genetic and certain families have more reported cases than others.

So is there ways to prevent this disease or do you just wait and see if you are among the unlucky victims? Fortunately, there is a lot you can do to protect yourself. You do not have to wait for early warning signs to take the right action.


The best place to start is to fight the bulge. Type 2 diabetes is closely linked to being overweight which just about doubles your chances of becoming a victim. If you are overweight, it’s time to shed those extra pounds and if you are not overweight, don’t let it happen.
