When I purchased three of these the past month, I wasn't sure how well they would meet my needs. I needed timepieces to use in the sheds (well, to me they could only be called "sheds"--each one is only 5000 square feet) in my backyard. I had a few conditions: reasonably nice, not too pricey in case someone decides to break into my sheds, and reliable--because who knows when you'll be in your silk pajamas in the backyard shed, too tired to leave, wondering what time it is? A truly reliable timepiece will always be there for you, to let you know the time. A truly great timepiece like this won't judge you for being lazy.
I took the leap of faith and ordered three, for the middling sum of $1.77 million (+ $300 for shipping, but who's counting?). When they arrived, I was initially displeased. I knew I was shopping at the "bottom feeder" level of standing timepieces, but the condition was outrageous! I read the instruction manual that was included, and saw that it called for crumbled Brioni dust to clean the item. For the "couture" effect, the timepieces did not arrive clean, on purpose. I went to the dumpster and grabbed some disgraceful Brioni suits I had used to line my dog's bathroom, and put them in my industrial blender (in the eastmost wing of the primary building of my estate). Taking a lion pelt as a towel, I mixed the Brioni dust with imported Absinthe from the 19th century and went to work cleaning the timepieces. Lo! They were now much cleaner, much more beautiful. NOW I understand the "couture effect" Buben & Zorweg were going for in offering the timepieces.
The dirt and grime initially on the timepieces was my only complaint. They have served me relatively well since I purchased them and subsequently cleaned them (with minimal expense, honestly). They have all exceeded my expectations.
Really, if you need a good budget timepiece for your secondary storage areas, you can't beat this Buben & Zorweg Ellipse Grand Revers Extreme 18k Gold Double Tourbillon Fine Timepiece. Heck, buy three! At this price, why not?
