Be aware of the financial aspect of homeschooling a child. When you have to stop working, that could sink you financially. Even if you are already a stay-at-home parent, you will have less time to perform your daily duties. Figure out if your decision will entail turning to more convenient but more expensive options such as grocery delivery or hiring a housekeeper.
If you are going to school your child at home, you need to concentrate on math and reading skills. These topics are skills needed for lifelong success. A child with strong reading and math skills will be able to excel in other subjects like history and science.
