| − | Years ago I 1st heard the term "gun snob". This is an individual which will look down his nose if your firearm doesn't live up to what he has decided is a "proper" firearm. It can be that it isn't the proper brand, is too inexpensive to be any good, or perhaps the wood isn't fine sufficient to be worthy of consideration by those of the upper crust. The same sort of individual exists where telescopic sights are concerned, the "scope snob".

| − | Quite frankly, I have little use for this type of individual. While nobody appreciates a fine hand crafted firearm more so than I, not everyone can afford one. The fact of the matter is which you can take just as numerous head of game with an inexpensive arm as with an expensive one, and have just as much fun doing it!

| − | Pretty much the very same thing can certainly be mentioned for [http://allriflescopes.net rifle scopes]. Yes a super-duper high- dollar scope is a thing of beauty and a joy to behold, yet that does not mean you cannot get the job done with an inexpensive one.

| − | Now, some might say the only method to go is to get a Leupold, Burris, etc. and that they're a better merchandise than lots of of the less expensive brand names, but better how, and at what expense? What are you paying out for when you purchase a high end optic? Mostly you're paying for added light gathering ability that is only noticeable in the very first few minutes of daylight, or the last few at dusk. You need to ask yourself if it makes sense to pay numerous times the rate mainly for those few extra minutes. If it does, well then why not get a Swarovski? It is supposedly brighter in low light than the others, yet then again at what cost? You see, it's all relative. You rapidly reach the point of reducing returns. You need to pay way more to gain relatively little.

| − | I own both Leupold and Burris [http://allriflescopes.net scopes] and they are fine pieces of equipment indeed. I also own low end scopes. No, they aren't as bright and not very as clear under certain situations, but they still enable me to bag just as much game and at a much lower cost. Would I take a low end scope on a high priced once-in-a-lifetime hunt? No, I would not, yet for the vast majority of individuals I dare say a Cadillac is nice, but a Ford or Chevy will still get you where you wish to go. There is a spot for them all. Bear in mind, it is the thrill of the hunt that really matters!
