There are five factors that can be cited for the difficulties faced by patients who are undergoing treatment for the condition known as urticaria. Not a lot of people are aware that the seemingly dreadful name 'urticaria' actually refers to that condition we are all familiar with: the hives. It is not something grave or life-threatening. In fact, many people are even predisposed to accepting that they are going to have to live with it for the rest of their lives.

One of the main things that make  [http://www.urticaria.com/ treatment for urticaria]  such a daunting task is the fact that you can't really blame a specific pathogen or causative agent for it. Mostly it is identified as one of those physiological malfunctions whose main cause cannot really be pinpointed exactly. It would have been better if there is a specific pathogen identified because the treatment could start at getting rid of that pathogen. At least that would be quite a manageable task. We are talking about an autoimmune reaction here, and these reactions are not as straightforward as we'd want them to be.

The fact that the condition called urticaria has multiple triggers is also another factor that makes its treatment difficult. In some cases, the simple exposure to certain allergens would be enough to bring about urticaria. Unfortunately, that is not always the case because it could also arise without any allergies coming into play. Even a person with an urticaria has no idea what exactly triggers the condition. And the management of the condition is virtually impossible without the identification of the triggers. This condition does not have universal treatments either. You would have to identify the triggers for your condition and make use of some management strategies to pull a rein on those triggers.

The third factor that makes treatment of urticaria a rather challenging undertaking is the fact that a single person can experience urticaria as a result of multiple triggers. You might have been able to identify the trigger, but that does not mean you will be automatically able to manage it. Managing one trigger might not completely solve the problem because there is a risk that another trigger could arise. A person's predisposition to urticaria is the one constant through the whole thing. Triggers could change or evolve in a single patient.

The fourth factor has something to do with [http://www.medicinenet.com/hives/article.htm clinical diagnosis] . If the condition is misdiagnosed, that could lead to difficulties experienced in treating urticaria. This is always a huge clinical challenge in the management of all conditions.

The last factor that is deemed to be a hurdle that people who are treating urticaria is facing is the fact that patients could eventually become resistant to prolonged treatments for the condition. Although a trigger has been identified in a patient and it has been managed, the manageability could only be for a limited period of time only.
