In lieu of modern two-wheelers, riders drive antique bicycles called penny-farthings by way of the streets of Evandale. With one large wheel in front and a much smaller one in back, penny-farthings (also better-known as “ordinary bicycles” in Britain and as “highwheelers” in the US) evolved into popular in the 1870s and 1880s as the first mass-produced bicycle. They were also the first motor bikes to be raced in Australia.

The National Penny Farthing Championships go on the tradition to life with a number of tem xe racing events held program the annual Evandale Village Fair, the 30th anniversary of which will continually be held on 25 February this year. The championship itself takes four warms of one-mile laps. Most riders seem just as they would in any contemporary bike (may tem xe) run, sporting helmets for safety and Lycra outfits for accelerate, but the bike must resemble those put in the 19th Century, even if it is constructed from modern materials. The front wheel needs to get at least 44 inches in diameter and carry at least 60 spokes, a minimum size typical of the era.

Riders can fight in the costume contest , sweepstakes by outfitting up in 1880s-era outfits for the afternoon parade and a number of casual races are taken within the day. The Novice Race gives first-time racers the chance to run two laps; the Obstacle Race calls for riders to train, ride and have their bike more than 100m,tem and the Slow Race rewards the cyclist who provides the longest to dirt bike 25m.
