Результаты проведённого исследования

Wales has a moderate climate, very similar to the rest of the UK, but it can also be slightly unpredictable! The mountainous nature of our landscape and the shape of our coast mean that the weather can differ quite dramatically within a very short distance. Weather also changes quite quickly here- it could be raining in the morning and gloriously sunny by the afternoon. Most of our rain tends to fall in the autumn and early winter months (October – January) so be sure to bring a raincoat and a good pair of waterproof walking shoes to Wales. Our days in winter are shorter and we tend to experience snow, which provides us with some spectacular scenery.

Although it’s not all rain and clouds in Wales - the summer months of June to August are the hottest here and a great time to take advantage of some of our beautiful beaches and coastline or partake is some of our outdoor sports and activities. April, May and September also offer some warm days to explore our landscape. Our long summer days also help, it often doesn’t get dark until 10pm/22:00 in midsummer thanks to our northerly latitude. The temperature in winter months averages around 6°C with summer months climbing up to 24°C. However, conditions in the upland areas can be changeable throughout the entire year, so take care on our spectacular walks.

Generally speaking, the parts of England closest to the Atlantic Ocean experience the mildest temperatures, although these are also the wettest and experience the most wind. The areas in the east, on the other hand, are drier and less windy, but also display cooler temperatures. England is warmer and sunnier than any of the other countries making up the United Kingdom. The month with the most sunshine is July, which is also England's driest month.

On average, the sun shines for about 1340 hours every year in England. The south coast has the clearest skies (i.e. the least cloud cover) due to the prevailing winds in that area. This means that counties like Kent and Sussex benefit from significantly more sunshine, attracting local and international visitors to their shores. The cloudiest areas are in the northern and western parts of England as well as in the mountainous areas.

England's climate is expected to change over the course of a few decades due to pollution and global warming. Annual temperatures are expected to rise by two degrees Celsius and summer highs are expected to soar by three degrees by the year 2050. Rainfall will decrease in general but winter rainfall will increase. cotland's climate is generally cool and wet. It is influenced by the North Atlantic Drift, a warm sea current from the Caribbean, which keeps Scotland's coast ice free in winter. The climate is oceanic, with no extreme variations or exceptional events like tornadoes, droughts or widespread floods, but the day to day weather can vary enormously and unpredictably, and is a national source of daily conversation.

The east coast has a marginally more continental climate than the west, with drier weather, sunnier summers and colder winters. The prevailing winds are from the west and southwest, and are constant and important feature in the islands and high hills.

Вывод

В процессе работы над проектом мы выяснили, что климат Великобритании относится к области умеренно-континентального климата морского типа, который характеризуется теплой зимой и нежарким летом, является умеренным, океаническим, мягким и влажным.
