I did a whole lot of exploration prior to buying this device, I couldnt decide amongst this and the pretty much identical Lowrance Elite5 chartplotter unit. Immediately after reading countless evaluations I chose the Hummingbird. The Lowrance has additional colour palete possibilities but the hummingbird had the previous model sonar skill otherwise they appear the same to me. I am soo glad I selected this one particular! The downscan is great, genuinely displaying wonderful detail of composition and bottom, but its genuinely difficult to see fish and baitfish on it. The outdated style (would seem like an up to date version)demonstrates fish and baitfish fantastic and will mark them on the screen. This unit permits you to split the screen and use both equally sonar forms at the same time, and its freaking awesome. The chartplotter is great for navigating the huge lakes but the incorporated mapping is undesirable on small lakes exhibiting just a blank white display screen with your boat in the middle. But you can mark a waypoint for the dock to help you get back again and perspective your tracks as you go to aid navigate blindly. The coolest part of getting a chartplotter is getting in a position to mark places of construction or fish zones and be able to return to them later on without having throwing away time getting to troll over lifeless h2o seeking to come across "that spot" all over again later in the day. Appears nuts but this issue genuinely has adjusted the way I fish and produced me a superior fisherman! I just cant consider what they can occur up with up coming.
